Design & Story

When Poul Henningsen started selling his first designed lamps, he mainly focused on restaurants, police stations, libraries, town halls, train stations, theatres, cinemas and many more public places, these lamps were often very large, and made for tall ceilings. In order to reach private homes, an extensive program of slender small-shaded chandeliers was launched in 1930. Here, the Barsket chandelier with 2/2 amber-colored shades, which was only in production from 1931 to 1934 is today a rare find in this condition.
